2) What could students have done differently to avoid conflicts with other citizens and be more effective?
The paper is interested in how can the students do a better job motivating other citizens and do more effective protesting without occupying the central. The paper is going to propose an "Economic Approach Theory": Chinese Communist Government's legitimacy comes from history (the liberation) and the economy. The government cares more about stability and economic growth more than anything. If the students can argue from an economic perspective, the protest is going to be more effective. If the protest is correlated to what the government cares more, it is going to be more successful.
